February 6-10

This week our students all wore stripes on Tuesday and Mr. Jernberg read us the book,
A Bad Case of Stripes!

We are beginning to do research for our country reports.  A big part of this project is learning how to work effectively as a team.  The kids are learning how to use productive, supportive, language as they work together to find out facts about their specific country.

Today the kids are bringing home a master list of their specific job for the report and when they need to have it finished and returned to the classroom, February 28th.  We will put their information on their display board with the rest of their team's information.

Tonight, February 10th at 6:30 in the library, join us for Reading Night.

Next week is Service Week.  The students have the opportunity to bring in clean used clothing and toys to send to needy families in the Philippines.  These items need to be brought in by

January 30-February 3

This work we introduced the countries we will be learning about the next few weeks for our country reports.  Our class will be learning about Singapore, Taiwan and Indonesia.  Ask your child what country they were assigned to.  They will be bringing information home about what their individual responsibilities will be next week.

I have been so impressed with the amount of reading the students in 3.2 have been doing.  The kids love to read and are doing great finding good fit books that are interesting and challenge them in their reading.  Keep up the good work kids!
