This has been a great year!

What a wonderful year we have had in 3.2!  Your students have grown so much over the past 9 months.  They have become deeper thinkers, better readers, and amazing writers.  They have learned about their world and about how different people and cultures influenced the way we live today.  They have studied science to understand our earth,  our solar system, and ecosystems.

Our students have also been able to see how God fits into our world view. We learned how God worked through the lives of people throughout history to establish a lasting relationship.  We learned that He is not a distant God who doesn't care, but a personal God who loves each one of us passionately.  Together we have explored the bible to see how it has affected history and how it is relevant to us today.

I have loved the energy and enthusiasm the students have brought to the classroom.  They have learned how to be better friends, and how to support the students around them in their learning.  We have learned so much from each other!

We have No bible verse this next week.

Wow! Only 8 1/2 more days of school!

I heard that the students had a good week with Mrs. Robero while I was away with the 5th grade students in Osaka, Kyoto, and Nara.  Mrs. Robero said that they studied hard and worked together to build Roman bridges and arches.

This week we will be finishing up our study of area and perimeter and begin to study geometry.

The last day of school is June 9th at 12:30.  We will clean up our room the last day and then have a class party and eat in the classroom.  I will be sad to see the year end.  Each of these children has been wonderful to have in class.

I will be away from class on June 6th.  Mr. Jernberg will be having shoulder surgery and I need to be at the hospital with him on that day.  I will return on the 7th.

We had a great book fair!

I was so proud of ALL the kids.  They knew their books, they spoke clearly and looked at their judge while they were talking.  They did a great job!

In math we have been working on Area and Perimeter and the kids designed their own little people to help them understand the concept.

Happy Golden Week!

We wrapped up our unit on North American Explorers this week.  The kids have really enjoyed learning how so many explorers were trying to find one thing...but ended up discovering something completely different!  We even learned this song to help us remember!
